== Background & Significance == Shanghai was originally chosen to host the 2021 edition of the championships at Dianshan Lake, but that event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2025 edition marks the long-awaited return of the worldโs top rowers to this venue. The World Rowing Championships are the most prestigious annual event in the sport, especially in non-Olympic years, offering a complete program of Olympic and non-Olympic boat classes.
