== The History of San Diego Comic-Con == Founded in 1970 by Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger, and others, SDCC began as the '''Golden State Comic-Minicon''', a one-day event with 300 attendees at the U.S. Grant Hotel. Initially focused on comics and sci-fi, it evolved into a multi-genre spectacle encompassing movies, TV, gaming, and pop culture. By 1991, the convention moved to the San Diego Convention Center, and in 1995, it became '''Comic-Con International: San Diego'''. Today, itβs the largest convention of its kind, per Forbes, and a must-attend for fans and industry professionals alike.
