Williams began his college football career at '''Ohio State University'''. However, in a crowded wide receiver room featuring future NFL stars like Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, Williams found limited playing time during his two seasons with the Buckeyes. Despite his talent, he only managed 15 receptions for 266 yards and three touchdowns over two seasons.

Seeking more opportunities to showcase his skills, Williams transferred to the '''University of Alabama''' for the 2021 season. The decision proved to be a game-changer. In his lone season with the Crimson Tide, Williams exploded onto the national scene, catching 79 passes for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns. His deep threat ability, combined with his elite speed, made him one of the most dangerous weapons in college football.
