=== A Rich Historical Legacy === Saudi Arabia is home to some of the world’s most important historical and religious landmarks. The birthplace of Islam, it houses the two holiest cities in the religion: Mecca and Medina. Every year, millions of Muslims make their pilgrimage to Mecca, performing Hajj, which is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. In addition to its religious significance, Saudi Arabia’s history stretches back thousands of years. The Arabian Peninsula was historically a hub of trade, connecting Africa, Asia, and Europe. Ancient kingdoms like Nabateans and civilizations thrived in the area, leaving behind incredible historical landmarks, such as the UNESCO World Heritage site of Al-Hijr (Madain Salih), showcasing the architectural marvels of ancient civilizations.
