== The Match Unfolds == From the opening whistle, D.C. United showed hunger. Jackson Hopkins broke the deadlock early with a goal in the 13th minute β capitalizing on a set-piece scramble, he gave the hosts something to cheer about. United, fighting to regain any confidence, looked dangerous in patches, testing Miamiβs defense with energy and urgency. Miami, however, were missing some key names. Without Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, among others, the side had to adjust. Their chances were more subdued in the first half, and they trailed going into the break.
