==== Geography and Location ==== Bergen County is bordered by the Hudson River to the east, with New York City (specifically Manhattan) just across the river. To the west, it borders Passaic County, and to the north, it shares a boundary with Rockland County, New York. The county is also close to the New Jersey Meadowlands, providing both urban development and natural green spaces. The county's location in the New York metropolitan area makes it a desirable place for people who work in New York City but prefer a suburban lifestyle. Bergen County is well-connected to the rest of New Jersey and New York, with major highways like the Garden State Parkway, Route 4, and Interstate 80 running through it. Additionally, it has access to several NJ Transit train and bus routes that provide convenient commuting options to Manhattan and beyond.
