=== Early Life and Path to the NBA === Anthony Edwards was born on August 5, 2001, in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in a tough environment, Edwards developed a passion for basketball at a young age, inspired by his family's support and the local community. His journey to NBA stardom began at Holy Spirit Preparatory School, where he quickly gained attention for his athleticism and basketball IQ. Despite his natural talent, Edwards was often overlooked due to the abundance of standout players in his class. Still, his ability to dominate on the court made him one of the top recruits in the country. Edwards played one season of college basketball at the University of Georgia, where he emerged as one of the most exciting players in the NCAA. In his lone season with the Bulldogs (2019-2020), he averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors. While Georgia didn’t achieve much team success during Edwards’ time there, his individual performances were enough to make him the consensus top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
